Aston Villa have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Tosin Adarabioyo, with Chelsea already making their position clear. The out-of-favour defender is being considered as a potential replacement for Ezri Konsa, who is set to complete his move to Arsenal this week.
Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £51million plus add-ons for Konsa, with the England international already saying his goodbyes at Bodymoor Heath. According to The Athletic, he is expected to undergo his medical on Thursday.
With Konsa set to follow Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne and Youri Tielemans out of the door, Villa are believed to have identified Tosin as a candidate to fill the void at centre-back.
The Chelsea defender has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge, and his availability could give Villa an opportunity to move quickly as they look to rebuild their defensive options.
Villa will need to act decisively if they are to replace Konsa with a player capable of stepping straight into the starting XI. Tosin’s Premier League experience and physical presence could make him an attractive option for Unai Emery as he prepares for another significant change to his squad.
