Aston Villa have completed another piece of summer transfer business, with Unai Emery approving the departure of Samuel Iling-Junior from Villa Park.

Iling-Junior has joined Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan as he looks to gain regular first-team football and continue his development.

It is the fifth loan spell of the winger’s Villa career since arriving from Juventus. He has previously spent time at Bologna, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Pisa.

“I spoke to the manager, Steven Schumacher, and he understood my journey,” Iling-Junior said.

“That is what attracted me here, to take the next step in my career. I want to have a good season, put smiles on everyone’s faces and be a consistent starter for this team.

“I’ve got good experience of this stadium already,” he added.

“I scored a brace against Luxembourg here, so that was a good night.”

Iling-Junior also outlined what Bolton supporters can expect from him during the upcoming campaign.

“I’m a direct player. I like to be creative and, most of all, I work hard for the team and want to express myself on the pitch,” he continued.
