Aston Villa are stepping up their pursuit of Palmeiras winger Allan after submitting a formal offer for the Brazilian attacker.
Reports on Tuesday claimed Villa had a package worth £25.7 million rejected by Palmeiras, who are reluctant to lose the 22-year-old midway through their domestic campaign.
However, the Brazilian club have not completely closed the door on a deal, and Unai Emery’s side are expected to consider returning with an improved offer as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements.
The departure of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea has created a significant gap in Villa’s squad, making the addition of a dynamic wide player one of the club’s priorities before the transfer window closes.
