Metro and Rail Information

West Midlands Metro services are expected to run normally between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village until 10am.

After that point, tram services will operate only between Wolverhampton Station and Grand Central/Millennium Point while the parade takes place.

Services to Edgbaston Village are expected to resume once the route has safely cleared and tram tracks are reopened.

Supporters are also being encouraged to monitor updates through the West Midlands Metro website and official social media channels.

There are currently no planned rail disruptions scheduled for Thursday, May 21, although train services into Birmingham city centre are expected to be extremely busy because of the large number of supporters travelling for the celebrations.

Heavy Traffic Expected Across Birmingham

Motorists are also being warned that roads across Birmingham are likely to experience significant congestion throughout the day.

Areas including Digbeth, Holloway Circus and roads surrounding the parade route are expected to be particularly busy due to both traffic and large pedestrian crowds.

Additional delays are also expected in Birmingham’s Eastside district because of ongoing HS2-related roadworks and closures already affecting the area.
