Aston Villa face major battle for £73m star as Bundesliga heavyweights enter race

Aston Villa face huge fight for stunning signing of £73m star as Bundesliga giants charge into race
RB Leipzig have entered the battle to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, EPL Mania can exclusively reveal, with the Manchester United loanee’s revival attracting strong interest across Europe.

Sancho is expected to depart Manchester United when his contract expires this summer, ending a turbulent spell at Old Trafford following his £73million move in 2021, and paving the way for a high-profile free transfer.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Aston Villa, where he has started to rediscover the form that once made him one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking threats.
His recent displays have not gone unnoticed, with sources confirming that interest in his services is now rising quickly.

Villa are eager to secure Sancho on a permanent deal and have already opened talks over a possible move, as previously reported.

The Midlands side are pushing for a top-five Premier League finish, which would guarantee Champions League football next season. They also remain in the hunt to win the Europa League, another pathway that would secure a place among Europe’s elite.

Champions League qualification is viewed as vital to Villa’s chances of persuading Sancho to stay, as it would enable them to offer a competitive contract. However, interest from elsewhere is growing, with a return to Germany a genuine option.
Borussia Dortmund have made their desire clear to bring Sancho back for a third spell, and they remain firmly in contention alongside Villa as two of the frontrunners.

However, it’s understood the race is now expanding, with fresh interest emerging from Germany as his United career nears its conclusion.

RB Leipzig are among the clubs closely tracking the situation and are considering whether to make a move. The Bundesliga outfit see Sancho as a potentially outstanding free-agent opportunity, especially given his proven success in German football.
Leipzig are also assessing their attacking options ahead of the summer, with possible changes out wide. The club could look to strengthen in those areas, particularly if they lose highly-rated youngster Yan Diomande.

It’s also understood that clubs in Spain and Italy have registered interest in Sancho’s situation, further intensifying the competition for his signature ahead of the summer window.
