Forget Rogers: Aston Villa’s new “explosive” talent could be the next Grealish

Aston Villa’s campaign has been marked by mixed performances so far.

Unai Emery’s men have displayed moments of real quality but struggled to maintain consistency across competitions. Their first Premier League win only arrived in late September against Fulham, followed by a tight 2–1 triumph over Burnley that briefly lifted spirits.

Still, Villa sit 13th in the league with a -1 goal difference, highlighting their ongoing struggle to turn dominance into decisive results.

The challenges keep coming, with a tough trip to Tottenham next and a Europa League clash against Go Ahead Eagles looming midweek.

Europe, though, has been more encouraging.

Emery’s side are third in their Europa League group after beating Bologna and Feyenoord, showing that his tactical tweaks and rotation are bearing fruit. With games coming thick and fast, squad depth is being tested — and Emery has started relying on young talent to keep the attack fresh.

Much like Morgan Rogers made the leap last season, another exciting youngster now looks ready to shine under Emery’s guidance — and his flair and confidence on the ball are drawing comparisons to Jack Grealish.

When Grealish left for Manchester City in 2021 in that record £100m deal, he was hailed as one of Villa’s most naturally gifted and dynamic wingers — and fans may soon see shades of him once again.
