Aston Villa will be missing a crucial player for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley.
Tyrone Mings was forced off against Fulham last weekend after sustaining an ankle problem in the 3-1 victory, with Pau Torres taking his place.
It has now been confirmed that the 32-year-old centre-back will sit out Villa’s Europa League clash with Feyenoord tonight and the upcoming league game versus Scott Parker’s side.
While a full medical update is still awaited, Mings is not expected to return before the October international break.
The England international, who penned a fresh two-year deal at Villa Park during the summer, had featured in all six of Villa’s league matches this season before his setback.
His absence opens the door for Torres to partner at left centre-half in both European and domestic action.
Mings is not Villa’s only casualty. Andres Garcia has also been ruled out, while Amadou Onana, Youri Tielemans and Ross Barkley remain doubts for the Burnley clash.
Unai Emery’s men endured a slow start to the campaign but have recently found form, winning back-to-back matches in all competitions.
They currently sit 16th in the Premier League, two points clear of the Clarets.
