Marco Bizot joined Villa Park from Brest on a two-year agreement this summer
Marco Bizot says he’s thoroughly enjoying life at Aston Villa, though admits it’s “too soon” to know if he’ll stay at the club beyond his current deal.
The Dutch goalkeeper arrived from Brest on a two-year contract and has already featured in two of Villa’s first three Premier League fixtures this season. His deal runs until 2027, when he’ll be 36, and he told Voetbal Primeur: “I want to make the most of these two years, play as well as I can, and really enjoy it.
“Afterwards, we’ll evaluate – is it possible to continue, do we still want to, or will I look for something else?
“It’s too early to predict now. We’ll know more in a year and eight months, around May 2027.”
Reflecting on his move, he added: “For Brest, there was no chance of me leaving for another French club – that was completely off the table.
“I wasn’t considering other countries apart from France or England either, so the options were limited.
“But Aston Villa were convincing from the start. The staff, people like sporting director Monchi, are top level in football.
“It’s incredible when figures of that calibre really want you to join their club.”
