Marcus Rashford has hinted at a possible move away from Manchester United after his successful loan stint with Aston Villa came to an end, leaving fans speculating about his future.
The England international joined Villa in January on loan and made an immediate impact, registering four goals and six assists in three competitions under Unai Emery. However, his season was cut short due to a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the final four matches, as well as upcoming England fixtures.
Rashford is not believed to be in new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans, and while Barcelona has shown interest, a permanent move to Villa looks unlikely after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League for a second straight season.
Despite that, Rashford has expressed his gratitude to the club and its fans in an emotional message, praising their support and hinting at a fresh start elsewhere.
“Just a quick thank you to everyone at Villa for an amazing few months (injury aside),” he wrote. “It’s a special club and I’m truly grateful for how the fans welcomed me from the first moment.
“The manager, players, and staff were outstanding. Missing out on the Champions League is tough after all the hard work, but I’m sure this team will come back even stronger.”
