Aston Villa are actively exploring transfer options ahead of the summer window, with Osasuna defender Enzo Boyomo emerging as a potential target. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season in La Liga, catching the attention of Premier League scouts after a rapid rise in value.
According to The Telegraph‘s Mike McGrath, Villa are interested in triggering Boyomo’s £21 million release clause. The Cameroon international has seen his market value surge from €5 million to €20 million since joining Osasuna in early 2024. Born in France, Boyomo has earned two senior caps for Cameroon and has become a key figure in Osasuna’s starting XI.
Villa view Boyomo as a valuable addition to strengthen their defensive options. Should a deal materialize, he would add depth and competition at the back for Unai Emery’s side.
Boyomo began his career at Toulouse before spending four years at Blackburn Rovers, although he didn’t make a senior appearance for the English club. He later moved to Spain, where he featured for Albacete and Real Valladolid before joining Osasuna. His performances this season have made him one of the club’s most sought-after assets, sparking interest from abroad.
Villa Aim to Bounce Back in Final Premier League Stretch
Villa are looking to return to form following back-to-back defeats—2-1 to Manchester City in the Premier League and 3-0 to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final. They face Fulham at Villa Park this weekend as they continue their pursuit of a top-five finish and a possible Champions League spot.
Currently sitting seventh in the league, Villa remain optimistic. Defender Pau Torres commented:
“It’s obvious we had a bad week, but we want to recover our form in front of our fans. We have four games left, and our goal is to win every one and finish as high as possible.”
Torres also reflected on the disappointment of the FA Cup:
“We knew it was a huge opportunity for the club, especially playing at Wembley. Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve our goal there. Now, our full focus is on finishing strong in the Premier League.”
With several key matches remaining, Villa will hope to finish the campaign on a high—and possibly add new talent like Boyomo to their squad for next season.
