Aston Villa are edging closer to securing a deal for highly-rated Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan, according to Fabrizio Romano. The club is reportedly finalising personal terms with the 18-year-old, with talks between the two clubs expected to follow shortly.
Nypan has already caught the eye with strong performances in Norway’s top flight, including a match-winning goal in Rosenborg’s season opener. Described as “devastating” by analyst Ben Mattinson, the young playmaker has drawn interest from top European clubs, including Arsenal.
If Villa can complete the deal, it would be another signal of their growing ambition under Unai Emery. After strong recent transfer windows and a deep run in European competition, the Midlands side seem intent on adding young, high-potential talent to their ranks.
