Aston Villa are reportedly monitoring Cardiff City’s teenage star, Troy Perrett, ahead of the summer transfer window. The 18-year-old midfielder, who is also on the radar of several Premier League clubs, has impressed with his performances for Wales’ Under-19s.
Perrett, who has the versatility to play as a number eight or a number ten, signed a professional contract with Cardiff in July 2024. Villa have been admirers of the young talent for some time, even before he penned his deal nearly a year ago.
The midfielder has drawn comparisons to Wales legend Aaron Ramsey and has earned praise from Cardiff manager Omer Riza for his consistency and potential. Perrett has trained with the first team and made an appearance on the bench against Sheffield United last December.
Riza recently spoke highly of Perrett, stating, “He has trained up and played during international breaks. These things take time.” His continued strong performances at academy level have drawn attention from regular observers, further raising his profile ahead of a potential move.
